Netflix released App for iPhone and iPod Touch App; iPad App in the works

August 27th 2010

Netflix has released an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch which allows it's subscribers to watch movies and TV shows on the Apple devices.

Even though the app allows Netflix subscribers to feed unlimited tv shows and movies to their device, thanks to the Instant Queue feature, AT&Ts latest decision to cut back on its unlimited data connection plans might limit viewers consumption.

The iphone 4s high-resolution Retina Display might make watching movies on the smartphone an attractive proposition.

Apple is expected to introduce new ipods and perhaps a revamped Apple TV during a high-profile event in Bay area. Although Apple itself remains close-lipped about its plans, a recently available report from Bloomberg suggests the company is discussing with content companies, including CBS and News Corp., to offer tv shows for rental via itunes. This will put Nextlifx in direct competition with Apple.
