Percy Harvin of Minnessota Vikings Collapses at practice; Taken to Emergency
August 19th 2010
Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin collapsed at the teams Winter Park facility Thursday while watching practice and was loaded into an ambulance.
Harvin, who has experienced serious migraines, was not on the field for the start of practice. He was seen conversing with head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman away from locker room at Winter Park and then he jogged onto the field to watch practice. A short while later, Harvin vomited after which he fell down.
He arrived for special squads training and started having issues when he looked at sky catching punt. Practice carried on as the teams professional medical staff offered help to him. After about 10 minutes, a police car and ambulance from the Hennepin County Hospital arrived and EMTs tended to Harvin as exercise stopped and players watched.
The team did 10 plays while Harvin was in ambulance and then they concluded training early. Players obviously were concerned coming off field. Harvin missed fourteen days of training camp while dealing with migraine headaches following the passing away of his grandma. Harvin has suffered from severe migraines since he was 10. He missed numerous practices and one game last season, his first year season, while dealing with them. Harvin said the serious effects consist of vomiting and loss of vision.
